This tutorial shows how to root Xiaomi Redmi 1S MIUI 6
Caution:
- This is a safe process, but Play4Tech is not responsible for anything that happens to your phone.
- After installing root with this approach the system will not be notified about new OTA updates any longer
- Download the file Root_HM1S_MIUI6_Global.zip to your PC (because download via browser on phone often does not work properly)
- Connect your Redmi 1S via USB
- Copy the .zip to the folder ‘Computer\HM 1S\Internal storage’ (root of internal storage, meaning the top most folder)
- Disconnect your Redmi 1S properly from USB (use ‘Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media’ from USB icon in Windows SysTray)
- Select 'Choose update package',go to the folder where you downloaded the .zip and select it
- The updater app now reboots into the recovery, installs the update and then reboots
- After the reboot has finished, app called SuperSU will be installed, open that app and choose 'Continue' to update the SU binary.
- Select 'Normal' and an updated su binary will get installed.
- Now your Redmi 1S running MIUI 6 is rooted.
