How To Root And Install Custom Recovery On Xiaomi Redmi 2

Prerequisites:


Rooting Instructions:

  • Flash CWM custom Recovery if you don't already have it on your device. You can use the temporary boot method of recovery too if you do not want to change permanently into custom Recovery.
  • Download the root file and copy it to the root of your Phone's storage.
  • Turn off your phone and then boot into CWM recovery.
  • Select- "Install from Zip".
  • Browse and select UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.40.zip from the root of your device.
  • Install the zip. If you get any warning, ignore and proceed.
  • Once flashing is completed, reboot the phone.
  • And Voila, you have succesfully rooted your Redmi 2.
